Punjab is expected to come to a complete stand still and Sikhs will be partaking in Kirtan, Simran and Ardas. Kesri (Saffron) Dastars and Chunnis will be worn by all and Nishan Sahibs will be displayed outside homes and businesses. Sikhs in UK, Europe, Canada, USA, Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong and Kenya are also planning to join the shutdown.
Sikhs will be closing their businesses in protest of the planned State execution of Bhai Balwant Singh Rajoana due on 31 March 2012.
