Sikh clerics direct Parkash Singh Badal to save Balwant Singh Rajoana
The Sikh clerics decision was announced by Jathedar of Akal Takht Giani Gurbachan Singh from the rostrum of Akal Takht after holding nearly 7 hours long meeting at Akal Takht secretariat.
As many as 250 Sikh, religious social and political organizations had submitted their written suggestions with the Sikh high priests on saving the life of Balwant Singh Rajoana.
The Sikh clerics also awarded the title of 'Jinda Shaheed' (living martyr) upon Balwant Singh Rajoana and 'Quomi Shaheed (national martyr) upon Dilawar Singh , a suicide bomber who had blown himself up for killing Beant Singh on August 31, 1995.
