Sikhs still in Custody since 28 March including prominent leaders.

Sikhs still in Punjab Police’s Custody including Sikh Leaders.

Concerns within the worldwide Sikh Community are mounting as the total number of Sikhs detained by Punjab Police under Sections 107/151 (apprehension of breach of peace) since 28 March 2012 remains unknown. These detentions were made from various districts, including Bathinda, Gurdaspur, Ludhiana and Amritsar and included high profile Sikh leaders.

As of yet the following known Sikh leaders have still not been released from Police custody:

Bhai Simranjit Singh Mann – SAD (A) President
Bhai Daljit Singh Bittu – SAD (Panthic ) President
Baba Baljit Singh Dadu Sahib Wale – Panthic Seva Lehar
Bhai Harpal Singh Cheema – SAD (Panthic) Secretary General
Bhai Parmjit Singh Saholi - SAD (Independent) President
Bhai Gurdip Singh Gosha – Youth Akali Dal Delhi President
Bhai Gurinder Pal Singh Dhaola – Former Secretary General of SAD (A)
Bhai Jaswinder Singh Balia – SAD Delhi President
Bhai Gursavar Singh – SAD (A) State General Secretary



There are even further anxieties within the global Sikh community as it has been confirmed that former Director General of Police of Punjab KP Gill, held widely responsible for extreme brutal extra-judicial policing during the 1980s and 1990s, has today paid a visit to Punjab Police Headquarters.


After demitting the office as DGP, Punjab this was Gill's first visit to the Punjab Police Headquarters.


On his visit, he met with the current DGP Saini and other senior officials SK Sharma ADGP, Law and Order, MK Tiwari ADGP, Administration and Hardeep Dhillon, ADGP, Intelligence
